FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH WEEKEND TRAIL CONDITION REPORT:

With snow and rain falling in the Foothills this morning and more on the way, it's time to seek alternate locations to recreate and give most trails a break. All-weather trails will continue to be good bets, as will some of our sandiest trails, however most will be muddy and using them will create trail damage. Please refrain from doing so.

Yesterday we had a conversation with two trail users who were heading up Ridgecrest Trail when it was way too muddy. When this was brought to their attention they said they "have a plan" and so felt they needed to continue regardless of conditions. This brings up two important rules of thumb for the winter:

  1. Check this page or our Facebook page daily so that you are aware of trail conditions and can make responsible decisions and good plans;
  2. Don't stick to myopic goals - if you encounter muddy trail conditions, turn around and adjust your route accordingly.

谢谢你u for checking this report and have a great weekend!
